The Practical AI Programme
A Practical Way to Learn AI.
No Tech Background Needed.
An 8-week live programme where you learn to build AI tools for your actual job. Not theory. Not lectures. You build real things, from week one.
Next cohort starts soon. Small group, hands-on, live.
Hi Sarah, Thanks for your enquiry. I can confirm the main hall is available on March 15th. I have attached the booking form and pricing sheet. Once you have completed the form, I will send a confirmation within 24 hours. Let me know if you have any questions. Best regards
Drafted by your AI agent — you stay in control
You Use AI to Chat.
But It Could Do So Much More.
You have used ChatGPT to write an email or summarise a document. But your day-to-day has not actually changed.
You still spend hours sorting emails, copying data between spreadsheets, and writing the same reports every week.
You keep hearing that AI skills matter, but everything you see online is either too technical or too vague to actually help.
You want to do something practical with AI, not just read about it.
Curriculum
What You Will Build Over 8 Weeks
Every week you build something real. By the end, you have a portfolio piece for your actual job.
Week 1: Your First Working Automation
A live workflow that triggers on an event and takes action.
Concepts: Triggers, logic, actions.
Week 2: Smart Decisions and Data Routing
A flow that makes decisions and logs data.
Concepts: Conditional logic, branching.
Week 3: AI-Powered Workflows
AI classifies, extracts, and drafts with human approval.
Concepts: AI classification, prompt engineering.
Week 4: Your First AI Agent
An agent that reads emails, drafts replies, and sends on confirm.
Concepts: Agents, memory, reasoning, tool use.
Week 5: Connecting to the Outside World
Automations connected to external APIs.
Concepts: APIs, HTTP, webhooks.
Week 6: Multi-Agent Workflows
Purpose-specific agents that hand off to each other.
Concepts: Agent composition, sub-workflows.
Week 7: Making It Reliable
Output validation, error handling, and monitoring.
Concepts: Evals, guardrails, production readiness.
Week 8: Your Build (Show and Tell)
A portfolio project solving a real problem from your job. Demo to the cohort.
Concepts: End-to-end build, presentation.

Outcome
Portfolio piece you built yourself
Reliability
Production-ready: tested, monitored, trusted
Accountability
Cohort of peers, weekly homework, show and tell
Practitioner-led: taught by someone who deploys this in real organisations, not a content creator.
Build for YOUR job: homework is applied to your actual work, not generic exercises.
Reliable, not just impressive: you learn testing, monitoring, and error handling from Week 7.
Support all week: not just during the live session. Same-day responses on questions.
Cohort, not course: you learn alongside a small group of peers with shared accountability.

Your Trainers
A Small Team. Not a Content Factory.
Two practitioners who build and deploy AI automations for real organisations. They teach what they use.

Jake Holmes
Founder & AI Consultant
Jake is an AI strategy consultant and software engineer who has helped 15+ businesses identify genuine AI opportunities. He designed and delivered this programme inside a real organisation, taking non-technical staff from zero to building their own automations.
Business perspective — scoping use cases, understanding ROI, and making sure what you build actually solves a real problem.

Meghan Thorneloe
AI Strategist & Automation Specialist
Meghan brings process engineering rigour to AI automation. She designs and builds the most advanced n8n agents and multi-step workflows — production systems that run real business operations, not demos.
Technical depth — building complex agents, connecting APIs, and applying engineering principles to make automations reliable enough to trust.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any technical experience?
No. This programme is designed for non-technical professionals. The Schools Plus team we trained had zero automation experience before starting. We use a free visual tool — no coding required.
What tools do I need?
A computer and an internet connection. We use a free visual automation tool that requires no coding. We set everything up together in Week 1.
What if I miss a session?
All sessions are recorded. You can catch up at your own pace and ask questions in the support channel any time.
Is this just another AI hype course?
No. There are no motivational speeches. You build real, working automations. By Week 4 you will have a functioning AI agent. By Week 8 you will have a portfolio piece you can show to an employer or use in your current role.
How much time does it take?
One hour live per week, plus approximately 1 to 2 hours of homework. The homework is practical and applied to your own work, not busy work.
Will this actually help my career?
AI and automation are among the most in-demand skills in the job market right now. You will leave with a working project you can demonstrate in interviews or deploy at work — not just a line on your CV.
I have tried learning this before and gave up. What is different?
The most common reason people give up is getting stuck with no one to ask. Here, the trainer responds same day. You are never stuck for long. The cohort structure adds accountability — you are learning alongside peers, not alone.
